WOOL DREAMS
Adriana and Alain - Founders of Artal
Our beginning
Where we begin
From our way of thinking and our philosophy of life, a curiosity arose to learn about the process of making fabric from sheep's wool. It all started with the classic shepherd's socks—who wouldn't want a pair for a harsh winter?—and from there, we began to discover the possibilities of this raw material, so abundant in our land and so underappreciated these days. We learned about the spinning wheel and spindle, the brushes for carding the wool, and the carding machine. At first, we spoke with older people, and little by little, in our search, we've found more and more young people, like ourselves, who are learning about and wanting to revive the knowledge and traditions of the wool world.
Present
Where we are
We are currently focused on preserving and sharing this knowledge and exploring it creatively. We work with wool by hand to offer you unique products.
We are committed to supporting the rural and circular economy of our region. We work with shepherds in the Sakana, Basaburua, and Valdorba valleys. We strive to build close and trusting relationships with them.
